7 Moons Red Blend - I'd pass!

I usually remember to photograph the alleged wine culprits that end up in front of our reviewers. But with 7 Moons red blend? Well, readers, somehow I failed you and forgot to snap a shot. Though perhaps that's because this $10 bottle from Safeway was so instantly forgettable itself. So... I had to use a photo I took at the store.

7 Moons Red Blend is a dry red wine that combines seven grape varietals: Syrah, Merlot, Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet, Malbec, and Grenache. It is produced by 7 Moons Wine, a brand owned by Constellation Brands, a company that owns quite a few brands.

Review

Take my word for the lack of visuals - it already tells you enough about the absence of appeal here. As for taste? The wine delivers a cloyingly sweet, artificial candy flavors. That's how I'd describe it. An ammonia-esque aftertaste is present as well, though the quick finish meant the suffering didn't last long, at least.

The consensus across all reviewers that family wine night? A clear and resounding "no good." Extremely short finish, flavors that tasted fake, and that unpleasant experience. For $11-14, this was easily one of the worst bottles we've sampled. I'd put this in the 5 dollar bargin bin.

We'll be cleansing our palates with some nice Malbec after that! 1.5/5, and would not buy again.
