Review

Okay, let's discuss this young Bordeaux blend. Were expectations too high popping the cork after just a year in oak? Maybe. Pour a glass and initially you're greeted by a grippy wall of tannins. Decant this bad boy if you open now or be prepared to chew your wine.

We detected oak notes and hints of dark fruit, which helped balance the tannins. I picked up just a suggestion of black cherry, but mostly we've got firm, dry, oak-driven flavors still wrestling for position.

Will time fully mellow it out and reveal deeper dimensions? I want to say yes - the solid structure's there under the cedar and spice if you peer behind the curtain. Circle back in 2 years when the pieces fall together if you have a bottle stashed. 3 out of 5 grapes, and we might consider buying again.
