The Austin Hope Harvester wine from Paso Robles delivered on its goal of being a true definition of budget red wine. Austin Hope is a boutique winery based in Paso Robles, California that was founded in 2000. Through hands-on winemaking, Austin Hope crafts elegant Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots, and blends that showcase the distinctive vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA. One of our all time favorites wineries that we had the pleasure of visiting in the summer of 2023.

Coming in at a typical price point of $19.99 at Total Wine, the wine expressed beautiful fruit flavors on the nose with aromas of plum, cherry and berries. Upon first sip, the wine coats the mouth with a silky smooth texture. The fruit flavors continue onto the palate in a deliciously balanced way, showcasing the ripeness of Paso Robles grapes without veering into overly sweet territory.
Taking another sip reveals hidden layers of flavor that become more integrated with air. Spice notes of cocoa and vanilla mesh beautifully with the core fruit profile. Tannins offer just enough grip without being overly harsh or drying. As the wine is swirled and savored, the fruit flavors seem to linger endlessly on the finish. Each component comes together in a whole that accomplishes the goal of maximizing enjoyment for the cost.
Earning 5 out of 5 stars, the Harvester Cab from Paso Robles truly lives up to being the best definition of budget red wine. Its silky smooth texture paired with delicious fruit flavors that continue their presence make it excellent wine. Its balance and drinkability will please wine lovers on any budget or experience level. This wine is highly recommended! 5/5.
