Review
A classic Washington State Cabernet aroma profile emerges from Precision's latest effort - sweet cherry and cassis on first sniff - before sharper herbal edges surface upon airing. Oak rests quietly in the background providing accommodation more than accent.
The palate however fails to deepen the initial friendly invitation. Flavors of tart plum and wild berry wrap around a modest mid-section before clenching up quickly into a finishing display of grape tannin.
Pair simply with a basic burger or rustic pasta to allow the straightforward fruit to mingle. Not flawed per se but lacking allure, this Cabernet will whet one's whistle adequately while disappointing those craving richness or personality.
In summary, an affable weeknight wine but not one for special occasion. For $15, the casual drinker may proclaim “no harm, no foul" while the selective may leave a few sips remaining wanting more. Onward in search of inspiration! 3.5 out of 5 grapes.
