Review
This wine exhibits dark fruit tones of pomegranate and black cherry present with a kiss of raisin-like sweetness. A light sprinkle of savory herb and baking spice hints behind the fruit.
The palate delivers a medium-bodied mouthful of blackberry preserves, the fine tannins providing subtle structure reminiscent of a cashmere wrap draped gracefully over the experience. Light tannins and smooth finish.
With its balanced profile and easy drinkability, this Ravel & Stitch Cabernet presents as an affable weeknight option. Total Wine currently has this priced at $17.99, and grocery stores are slightly more. While the higher end of our typical budget spectrum, the purity of fruit and absence of significant flaws make it a reliable patio performer over the next 2-3 years.
We award wines based on how dramatically they overdeliver versus investment; this Cab satisfies without exceeding expectations. Let's call it a pour likely to delight the average consumer rather than exhilarate the selective. Hitting the threshold of everyday enjoyment merits an enthusiastic 4 out of 5 grapes.
